  They spent the rest of the afternoon talking, with Elizabeth trying to stay positive, and Chris doing what he could to help. The day became night and still there was no Al. Chris went to get them both some dinner. When he came back, they nibbled on their food and waited some more. When their eyelids became too heavy to hold up, they grabbed their things and prepared to leave. Liz and Chris were walking out the door when there was a flash of light behind them.

  They turned, and there was Al Clark, wearing a colorful printed tourist shirt, tan shorts, and a white hat. He held a drink with an umbrella in one hand, and on his face he sported big blue sunglasses and a huge smile.

  “Wait till you see what I have found!” he said.

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

  Jonathan G. Meyer is a retired electrician; and has been a carpenter, a mechanic, an artist of various mediums, and for a while, an inventor. Born and raised in the St. Louis area, he has been an avid reader throughout the course of his life. He is the middle child of a family with seven children, and because he was stuck in the middle, he has read books from many genres, but ultimately prefers science fiction. This novel is the second book in his AL CLARK series.
